On Monday June 29 2026, the 12th edition of the EPFL Alumni Garden Party took place at the Domaine de Bois Chamblard, in Buchillon (VD). This annual event brings together EPFL Alumni Gold contributing members as well as the School's Presidency, in a warm and exclusive setting.
Around seventy people attended the evening, which opened with a welcome video message from President Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, followed by an update on EPFL Alumni presented by Leïla Ojjeh, Director of EPFL Alumni.
Prof. Stéphanie Lacour, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Support, then presented EPFL's overview and priorities, before Prof. Marcel Salathé, Co-director of the EPFL AI Center, addressed EPFL and the AI revolution.
The evening continued with a panel discussion entitled "How to train the next generation of engineers for today's world?", moderated by Prof. Marcel Salathé, with:
- Alexia Giroud Nyer (BSc SV'25), Co-president of AGEPoly, Master's student in Life Sciences
- Prof. Nicolas Grandjean, Associate Vice President for Education at EPFL
- Pierre Grydbeck (SC'14), CEO of OWT, a Swisscom company
The event concluded with an update on philanthropy presented by Michaël Thémans, Delegate of the President and Director of development at EPFL. The evening ended with a cocktail and networking in the park.
