EPFL Alumni opens a new chapter in China

We are pleased to announce that EPFL Alumni has just opened a new chapter in China, headquartered in Shenzhen, called "EPFL Alumni Greater Bay Area".
It will cover the area of Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangdong Province, bringing together 50+ alumni in the region! This region is one of China's most economically active innovation and finance hub.

The announcement was made on July 4 by EPFL President Martin Vetterli
, at a reception in Shenzhen in honor of the Swiss delegation, led by H.E. Mr. Guy Parmelin, Federal Councillor, in charge of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, in presence of three Ambassadors: H.E. Swiss Ambassador to China Mr. Juerg Burri, H.E. Mr. Ivo Germann, and H.E. Jacques Ducrest, Consul General of Switzerland in Guangzhou Mr. Philippe Praz and CEO of Swissness China Philippe Roesle, HES-SO Rector Luciana Vaccaro, and the President of ETH Board, Mr. Michael Hengartner.

The chapter’s very first event took place on Saturday, July 6, with a visit to the Nestlé System Technology Centre Shenzhen Hub.

We would like to warmly thank Ren Zhanbing, President of the EPFL Alumni China Chapter, Shiyu Cheng, the Vice President of the GBA chapter, as well as the members of the committee of the new GBA chapter: Ivan Istomin, Huayan Yang, Qingwen Cui and Ke Liu for their contribution to the creation of this new chapter in China as well as the visit event at Nestlé System Technology Center Shenzhen Hub.

We look forward to further strengthening EPFL's presence in China through our alumni community!
