The EPFL Alumni Eastern Switzerland association organized its annual General Assembly on May 5th, 2018. It was followed by a fascinating conference on blockchain by Christian Raemy, founder of AirBie.io. After a quick refresher on the history of bitcoin, he presented the concepts of blockchain technology: miners, smart contracts, private or public blockchains, proof-of-work and proof-of-stake, and gave an overview of existing systems.
