The EPFL Alumni Council’s mission is to represent the voice of Alumni and advise EPFL in its decisions and strategic directions with regards to the management of its vibrant community of +44’000 talents worldwide. The EPFL Alumni Council is composed of the following members:


Léonard Badet - BSc and MSc MT’17, Chief Technology Officer, Bobst

Léonard Badet is the Chief Technology Officer at BOBST, where he has been working for the last 10 years. He leads the group's strategy for technology, innovation & digital transformation, reporting to the CEO, member of the Extended Management Team and leading the global R&D organization (> 500 staffs). Passionate about photography, he is a freelance photographer since 2013 (www.leonard.badet.xyz). 


Nathalie Brandenberg - BSc, MSc, PhD SV’17, Co-founder, Board member, CSO Doppl SA

Nathalie Brandenberg is the co-founder, Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and board member of Doppl SA created in 2022, engineering organoids for disease modeling and personalized medicine. She is also co-founder & board member of SUN bioscience, an EPFL spin-off focused on producing stem cell organoids for precision medicine. Nathalie holds an EMBA from HEC Lausanne. In 2016, Nathalie was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Science and Healthcare category and is recipient of an EPFL Alumni Award in 2022. 


Nicolas Cudré-Mauroux - Diploma and PhD MX’88, Chief Research & Innovation Officer, Sicpa

Nicolas Cudré-Mauroux is currently Chief Research and Innovation Officer at Sicpa, where he brings his expertise in materials engineering and technology leadership to drive innovation and growth in the company. Prior to that he was Research & Innovation Group General Manager at Solvay for 8 years, based in Brussels and 27 years at DuPont where he held various international R&D and management roles. Nicolas is the recipient of an EPFL Alumni Award in 2019.


Olivier Glauser - Diploma SC’94, Co-founder Shankai Sports, Chairman Cellap Lab. S.A

Olivier Glauser is the President of Cellap Laboratoire SA, the manufacturer of the skincare brands Cellcosmet and Cellmen. He is as well co-founder and board member of Shankai Sports, a pioneering sports management company in China. Previously, he managed Disney's venture capital fund in China and Qualcomm's international venture capital group, investing in innovative technologies, joining them initially as Senior Staff Engineering Manager and authoring several US patents. He is President of the Board of the Prix de Lausanne. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Laetitia Henriot Arsever - BSc and MSc IN’08, CIO, Valora Group

Laetitia Henriot Arsever is currently the Head of Group IT and Digital at Valora Group since November 2022. Previously, she was Head of Technology, Strategy, and Steering at Swiss Post and member of the IT Executive Board. Before her tenure at Swiss Post, she worked 9 years at Schindler in various roles across IT, sales, operations, and finance, founded a digital innovation hub in Berlin, and was CIO for the EMEA region.


Partick Hertzog - Diploma IN’01, Co-founder & User Experience Officer, Nexthink

Patrick Hertzog is one of the Nexthink co-founders, EPFL spinoff and unicorn. He is the User Experience Officer bringing more than 15 years of experience in UI design and information visualization. He is the author of a patent on security behavior visualization and metrics that is part of the Nexthink core technology. He has been supporting EPFL Alumni as an advistory board member of its new digital platform.


Sven Holstenson - Diploma MT’06, Managing Partner, Pictet Group

Sven Holstenson has been appointed to Managing Partner at the Pictet Group since May 2023. In this role he oversees Asset Services, Technology & Operations and chairs the Executive Committee of Banque Pictet & Cie. Previously, he was Equity Partner and Head of Europe for Pictet Wealth Management. Before joining Pictet in 2012, Sven worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Co, as brand manager at P&G and earned an MBA from INSEAD.


Mark Kornfilt - Diploma IN’06, Founder & CEO at 10doors ventures

Mark Kornfilt is currently the founder & CEO of 10 doors ventures. Previously, he co-founded Livestream in the US, a video streaming company, which was later acquired by Vimeo. At Vimeo, he scaled the business significantly, serving as Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer then President, leading the company to a successful NASDAQ listing in 2021. Mark has recently started a new startup and is also Venture Partner at ACE Ventures. Mark holds an Executive MBA from London Business School.


Michèle Reigner - Diploma MX’01, Director of R&D, Manufacture des Montres Rolex, Bienne

Michèle Reigner has over 20 years of experience at Rolex and is currently Director of R&D of Rolex Manufacture des Montres in Bienne. Previously she has been Head of Materials & Technologies for 3 years and Head of Patents & Technology Watch for 5 years.


Leïla Schwery Bou Diab - Diploma CGC’99, VP Manufacturing & Operations, Johnson & Johnson

Leïla Schwery Bou Diab is the VP Manufacturing & Technical Operations at Johnson & Johnson where she leads the manufacturing organization for all J&J new and existing pharmaceutical products. Prior to that, Leila did an international career at Novartis and Elanco (former Eli Lilly), having worked in US, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland in operations, manufacturing and quality. She is at the board of Interpharma since 2022, member of Innosuisse since 2020 and recipient of an Alumni Award in 2020.

Leïla Ojjeh – Diploma CGC’94, EPFL Alumni Director

Leila is the Director of EPFL Alumni since 2017 managing the thriving global community of Alumni from EPFL. She joined the higher education sector after a career in the industry where she worked at L’Oréal as Marketing Director for Lancôme, at Firmenich leading innovation for different food and ingredients categories at regional and global level and at Dover Markem Image managing their digital printing inks innovation portfolio. Leila holds an MBA from INSEAD and volunteered in the INSEAD Alumni Association where she has been President of the Geneva Chapter. She currently serves as the Chair of the Continental Europe cabinet at Case (Council for Advancement in support of Education). 


Michaël Thémans – PhD MA’07, Director of Development Office, EPFL’s Presidency

Michaël Thémans is the Director of EPFL’s Development Office since June 2021, reporting to the President and overseeing Philanthropy, Alumni Relations, strategic initiatives and representing EPFL on various boards (SQIE, EPFL Plus Foundation, Innovation Park). Michael was previously Group Research & Innovation Director at Richemont. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at EPFL as Deputy Vice President for Innovation and Deputy Director of the Transportation Center. He started his career at Nestlé as R&D specialist working on discrete choice modeling and consumer behavior prediction. Prior to his PhD at EPFL, he obtained a Bsc & Msc in Applied Mathematics from Université de Namur.


Martin Vetterli – PhD IN’86, President of EPFL

Martin Vetterli is the President of EPFL since 2017 and prior to that was the President of the National Research Council of the Swiss National Science Foundation. Martin Vetterli has made numerous research contributions in digital signal processing and is best known for his work on wavelets. He earned degrees in Electrical Engineering from ETHZ and Stanford University then his PhD at EPFL. He has been Associate Professor at Columbia University and Full Professor at the University of Berkeley. He joined EPFL as a Professor in 1995 and held several positions including Chair of Communication Systems and founding Director of the National Competence Center in Research on Mobile Information and Communication systems (NCCR-MICS), Vice-President of EPFL for International Affairs and Dean of the School of Computer and Communications Sciences.
