Meeting with EPFL President Martin Vetterli in Shanghai

In the frame of the official visit of Swiss Federal Council Guy Parmelin (Head of the Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research) in China from July 1st to 5th, 2024 accompanied by a science delegation including high-level representatives from the ETH Board, EPFL, Swiss National Science Foundation, University of Geneva, swissuniversities, and Switzerland Innovation, Swissnex in China organized an event titled Planetary Thinking: Sino-Swiss Explorations of Environmental Coexistence in Shanghai on July 3, 2024 with the participation of the science delegation. As EPFL President Martin Vetterli is one of the key members of the science delegation, several EPFL Alumni around Shanghai area were honored invited by Swissnex in China to this event and we had great pleasure to meet our president Martin Vetterli in such circumstances together with the participation to the high level dinner reception on a cruise boat in the presence of Swiss Federal Council Guy Parmelin.

The invited EPFL Alumni were:

  • Miao LI PhD (MT'16), Professor at  Wuhan University
  • Zhanbing REN PhD (EL'90), President of EPFL Alumni China


Among other guests were:

  • Vincent ZHANG, Chief Architect at Lemanarc Shanghai
  • Shengcai ZHENG Postdoc, Principal Investigator at Shanghai Tongji University
  • Bo ZHOU, Professor at Shanghai University of electric power
