The EPFL Alumni Vaud-Valais Chapter invites you to visit the EPFL Hyperloop test track on Monday June 19, 2023 at the EPFL site in Ecublens.
Hyperloop de l’EPFL
EPFL and its start-up Swisspod have built a test bed on the Ecublens campus to test the ultra-fast vacuum transport technology.
Presented as a fifth mode of transport, cleaner than planes and faster than trains, the Hyperloop system could revolutionize long-distance mobility. From the Nevada desert to the port of Hamburg, via Toulouse, the Middle East and China, projects are springing up all over the world. At EPFL, scientists are not to be outdone, and have built a circular test bed on the Ecublens campus, the first operational one in Europe. Carried out in collaboration with the start-up Swisspod, this project will validate the hypotheses necessary for the realization of an ultra-fast vacuum transport system, both in terms of infrastructure and the transport capsule.
