Roadshow EPFL Alumni  Chapter Morocco


Morocco, in the midst of an economic and social transformation, is positioning itself as a key player linking Africa, Europe and the rest of the world, thanks to its strategic investments, expanding infrastructure and bold reforms.

Objectives

This 3-day roadshow is designed for members of EPFL Alumni branches to :

1. Discover Morocco's flagship projects in innovation, sustainability and connectivity.

2. Highlight opportunities for collaboration between Alumni and Moroccan players.

3. Strengthen ties between EPFL Alumni branches through an enriching and interactive immersion.

4. Raise awareness of Morocco's impact on the development of the African continent, particularly in key sectors such as energy, technology and education.


Program – Updated on 22th september

  • Wednesday, October 15: Arrival of participants at Casablanca Airport and transfer to Mövenpick Casablanca (*). Check-in, followed by an international buffet dinner at the hotel.

  • Thursday, October 16: Breakfast at the hotel and 8:00 a.m. departure for a visit to Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir. Arrival around 11:00 a.m., visit of UM6P and presentation of research projects and international partnerships, including with EPFL. Departure at 4:00 p.m. for Marrakech, visit and networking dinner with local stakeholders including EPFL Alumni. Return at 8:30 p.m., arrival at the hotel around 11:30 p.m.

  • Friday, October 17: Breakfast at the hotel and 10:00 a.m. departure for a traditional Moroccan lunch in Rabat. From 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., roundtable discussion on the impact of diasporas and Alumni networks worldwide, with testimonies and Morocco as a case study. Visit of the City Walls of Rabat and the Traditional Souk. Return for an Alumni gathering evening with international buffet at the hotel in a cozy Casablanca-style atmosphere.

  • Saturday, October 18: Breakfast at the hotel and 9:00 a.m. departure to Tangier by privatized LGV high-speed train. Visit of Tangier Med, one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean.
    Lunch with sandwiches reminiscent of the La Coupole era, followed by a tour of the Industrial Zone, home to the world’s second-largest Renault Group factory among others. Synthesis and closing session on the return journey aboard the privatized LGV, with distribution of souvenirs and acknowledgments to participants and partners. Free evening in Casablanca.

  • Sunday, October 19: Organization of participants’ transfers to their departure airports (*).
