From Caux to Cloud: Shaping the Future of Technologies and Responsible Businesses
From Caux to Cloud: Shaping the Future of Technologies and Responsible Businesses
At Today's Crossroads — Perspectives from Multiple Disciplines on the Path Ahead
EPFL Alumni, Chapter Vaud-Valais, invites you to an exceptional evening at the intersection of technology, ethics, and responsible business on June 30, 2026, at the historic Caux Palace above Montreux.
This invitation is also extended to the alumni communities of IMD and EHL — bringing together three distinguished networks around a shared question: how do we shape technology and business that is not only innovative, but genuinely responsible and human?
The Caux Palace, a historic monument of national interest and home to the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation — whose very DNA is ethics — is the ideal setting for this conversation. Participants will also enjoy the rare privilege of a guided visit of this exceptional place before the workshop begins.
At the heart of the evening is a dynamic moderated roundtable — an open, interdisciplinary dialogue bringing together exceptional speakers from civil society, government, business, and academia, each with the highest levels of experience and insight. The conversation will be guided by Mary Mayenfisch-Tobin, lawyer and human rights expert, ensuring every perspective is heard and every challenge squarely faced.
Speakers
- Danièle Gosteli Hauser, Head of Economic relations and Human Rights Amnesty International, Swiss Section
- Stéphanie P. Lacour, Professor and EPFL Vice-President for support to Strategic Initiatives (VPS)
- Rémy Friedmann, Senior Advisor at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA)
- Ron Popper, CEO Global Business Initiative on Human Rights, former Head of Corporate Responsibility at ABB
We look forward to welcoming you to this unique evening — a rare opportunity to think together, across disciplines and perspectives, about the world we are building.
