On November 23, 2021, a conference combining history, culture and technology was held on the virtual reconstruction of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Palmyra, Syria.
Through the digitization of scientific documentation and collaboration with French start-up Iconem, UNIL researchers produced 3D models of the monument. Ubisoft, for its part, has developed a virtual reality experience based on this research work. UNIL researcher Patrick Maxime Michel talked to us about this major site and his collaboration with these technology companies.
