On December 1st, 2025, the Class of 1975 returned to campus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation. It was naturally a special moment for these 45 alumni and alumnae from all sections: Architecture, Physics, Chemistry, Rural Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering... The day allowed them to reconnect with their peers, explore a campus undergoing major transformation, exchange with the leadership as well as current students, and learn more about EPFL’s future projects.
The programme began with a welcome speech by Leïla Ojjeh, Director of EPFL Alumni, followed by a presentation of the Double Deck— a new education hub to be inaugurated in 2027 — given by its designer, the architect Dominique Perrault. Participants then visited the Discovery Learning Labs and explored the world of MAKE projects, interdisciplinary initiatives led by students. The morning concluded with the classic group photo in front of the School's logo.
The aperitif featured an address by Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, President of EPFL, as well as a presentation by Michaël Thémans, Director of Development, on the Student Support Program, which illustrates the philanthropic support enjoyed by the student community thanks to generous donors, many of whom are alumni and alumnae. Two graduates from this class, Jacques de Saussure and Philippe Petitpierre, shared their testimonies about their financial support for the programme. The day ended with a friendly meal.
