To complement our team of scientists and to support our growth, we are looking for 

a Scientist / Senior Scientist for solution Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) analysis,

who will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced SAXS-based characterization of macromolecules in solution for customers in the (bio)pharma industry. You will plan and conduct SAXS measurements, either directly or through supervision of experiments performed at external laboratories and synchrotron facilities. For each industrial project, you will design and optimize an experimental plan, and act as the primary liaison between our customers and the selected external facilities, ensuring seamless collaboration. You will perform data analysis and modelling, and present your findings in detailed reports that meet the highest standards of clarity and accuracy. Beyond project-specific tasks, you will drive the continuous improvement of our methods and spearhead the development of innovative technologies and services, ensuring that our offerings remain at the forefront of industry needs.

You will present R&D results at conferences, customer meetings and in scientific publications.

Profil recherché

Mandatory – extensive hands-on experience in SAXS techniques

  • Completed PhD in the field of SAXS applied to macromolecules in solution (mandatory)
  • Postdoctoral experience in the field of SAXS applied to macromolecules in solution (valued)
  • Excellent knowledge of X-ray scattering, in particular the SAXS theory and its applications
  • Extensive/multi-year hands-on experience with SAXS measurements and data interpretation
  • Excellent hands-on experience with software for SAXS data analysis and modelling
  • Ability to work in a very rigorous and autonomous way, performing tasks with extremely high accuracy and reliability, detecting deviations and inconsistencies
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and operate with flexibility regarding working hours
  • Strong customer-orientation mindset; ability to develop innovative yet robust solutions to meet specific customer needs
  • Open to travel to synchrotron facilities, conferences and customer premises outside Switzerland, if and when necessary
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent knowledge of English (spoken, written) and demonstrated experience in writing high-quality scientific communications.
