Scientist/Sr Scientist for Synchroton X-ray Powder Diffraction Analysis

To complement our team of scientists and to support our growth, we are looking for a Scientist / Senior Scientist for Synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction (S-XRPD) analysis who will be primarily responsible for designing, preparing and performing S-XRPD and complementary scattering measurements for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. You will also be responsible for analyzing S-XRPD datasets and for presenting results in detailed experimental reports to these customers. You will also take responsibility for continuously improving the performance of the current characterization methods and for developing innovative technologies and services to meet the needs of our industrial customers.
You will present R&D results at conferences, customer meetings and in scientific publications.

Profil recherché
Mandatory - extensive experience in powder diffraction techniques
- Completed PhD in physics, material science, chemistry or equivalent (mandatory)
- Postdoctoral experience in XRPD, ideally applied to
(bio)pharmaceuticals (valued)
- Excellent knowledge of XRPD theory and applications
- Extensive/multi-year practical experience with XRPD measurements and data interpretation
- Excellent knowledge of software for XRPD analysis
- Ability to work in a very rigorous and autonomous way performing tasks with extremely high accuracy and reliability, detecting deviations and inconsistencies
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and operate with flexibility regarding working hours
- Strong customer-orientation mindset; ability to develop innovative yet robust solutions to meet some particular customer needs
- Open to travel to synchrotron facilities, conferences and customer premises outside Switzerland, if and when necessary
- Strong team player
- Excellent knowledge of English (spoken, written) and demonstrated experience in writing high-quality scientific communications.
