Offer description
- Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations of all TSI aerodynamic requirements (cross-wind, slipstream, head pressure pulse and pressure signature in tunnels) as well as aeroacoustics, snow accretion, soiling and internal flow.
- Complete vehicle thermal management simulation.
- Optimize the flow field with adjoint and design space exploration methods.
- Communicate simulation results to other groups and departments.
- Provide recommendations and advices regarding aerodynamic solutions.
- Help prepare and assist wind-tunnel and full-scale tests.
Skills and expertise
- Master in engineering with a specialization in aerodynamics and thermodynamics or equivalent education and experience
- Experience in ground vehicle aerodynamics, ideally in the railway industry.
- Good technical knowledge of CFD methods
- Experience using commercial CFD software, ideally starccm+.
- Optional programming language experience (e.g. Matlab, Python, Julia)
- Experience with 1D code (e.g. Modelica, Amesim, MapleSim)
- Presentation, communication and report writing skills in English and German.
- Excellent teamwork skills
