Have you ever found yourself speechless after an inappropriate comment was made? Did you later wish you spoke up?
When the exchange is not scripted, as it would be in your favorite movie or series, it is incredibly difficult to find the right words to express ourselves. Later on, while having a walk, in the shower, our brain does provide us with a great response and we wished to have highlighted that the comment was inappropriate. If it is already a struggle in the private sphere, it only gets worse in a professional environment, with potential fear of undesired consequences.
If you'd like to gain confidence and feel more empowered to speak up, come join us in this workshop! We will explore various strategies to respond when you receive or witness uncomfortable remarks or comments. We will practice amongst ourselves to gain experience on which strategies are most natural to leverage or if a given context calls for a different strategy.
After the workshop, around snacks and drinks, you'll have the opportunity to debrief your experience, integrate your learnings and socialise.
Come join us on Tuesday 19th of March, in person at EPFL, room SG 0213.
Language: the event is bilingual, primarily hosted in English.
