Large Language Models are opening new possibilities for organizations to automate processes, extract and structure information, augment expertise, and develop more intelligent solutions. From focused applications such as structured data extraction to more advanced agentic workflows, AI solutions can address a growing range of business needs. But what does this mean in practice? Where can AI solutions create tangible business value, and what should organizations consider when moving from experimentation to reliable AI solutions in production?

Session objectives:
Organised by EPFL Extension School in collaboration with the EPFL Vice Presidency for Innovation and EPFL Alumni, this session will provide a high-level overview of practical approaches to deploying LLM-based AI solutions in real-world environments. Through concrete use cases, we will explore a spectrum of applications — from structured data extraction and other focused AI solutions to more complex agentic systems combining LLMs with data, tools, and external systems.

The session will highlight where different approaches can deliver value, when additional complexity is justified, and the key opportunities and challenges organizations should consider when taking AI solutions from potential to production.

Target Audience:
For companies at EPFL’s Innovation Park and EPFL Alumni, this webinar is ideal for CTOs, R&D and innovation managers, engineers, technical leaders, digital transformation professionals, and business decision-makers interested in understanding the practical potential of LLM-based AI, discovering relevant real-world use cases, and identifying opportunities for applying AI solutions within their organizations.
