On Wednesday 14 June, the EPFL Alumni Association Eastern Switzerland visited the water supply department of the city of Zurich at the Hardhof pumping station.

We were able to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes of the industrial service responsible for the distribution of drinking water in the city of Zurich. From the moment the water is tapped deep in the Limmat valley or at the bottom of Lake Zurich to the moment it reaches the consumer's tap, the management of drinking water is a service that requires special attention and a great deal of preparation in order to guarantee the quality of the water at all times.
