Visit of the Swiss Pontifical Guard
Dear EPFL Alumni,
I hope this message finds you well.
We are delighted to invite you to a special event where we will explore places in Rome where Swiss and Vatican history have been intertwined for centuries. Together, we will discover the Pontifical Swiss Guard, the Swiss Embassy to the Holy See, and St. Peter’s Basilica.
We will begin by meeting one of our EPFL alumni based in Rome, who will guide us through the first steps in Rome a pilgrim would do in the XVIIIth century. This walk will lead us towards the Vatican, where we have the privilege of a cordial invitation from the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Holy See, H.E. Manuela Leimgruber, for a light aperitivo.
Following this, we will continue to the Pontifical Swiss Guard for a visit of their quarters, and conclude with entering St. Peter’s Basilica.
The event will take place on Saturday, 6 June 2026, from 14:15 to 19:00. Please note that participation is limited to 20 people, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We kindly ask you to bring a valid ID and to respect the dress code required (please ensure that shoulders and knees are covered) to access the various sites we will visit.
Please confirm your participation as soon as possible by completing your registration on this page. The exact meeting point will be communicated to registered participants a few days before the event.
We look forward to seeing you!
Best regards,
Adrien Mulon (SIE'07)
