Thanks to our alumna Karine Pythoud (GR'95), IT project manager at the Direction des Systèmes d'Information, Etat de Vaud, and our alumnus Joel Pythoud (GR'96), Director of Ecosor SA, the EPFL Alumni Vaud-Valais chapter invites you to a visit of Plateforme la Plaine, the first re-recycling platform, on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Presentation of La Plaine Recycling Platform in Vufflens-la-Ville
Infinitely Recyclable is the 1st platform of re-recycling: "Valorize waste and produce quality building materials while preserving nature!"
On 36'000 m2 in Vufflens-la-Ville, Plateforme La Plaine, a unique and precursory concept, was born in 2021. It plans to recycle 150,000 t per year of mineral building materials destined for landfill, in synergy with four complementary partner companies.
Strategically located near the railroad and the major construction sites in Lausanne, on the Geneva-Zurich line, the platform promotes urban mining. It extracts raw materials for construction not from the ground, but from the city, using resources from urban deconstruction.
