EPFL Alumni, EPFL Startup Launchpad and Venturelab are delighted to announce the 13th edition of the Startup Champions Seed Night at the Forum Rolex at EPFL on Thursday, April 25th 2024!

This annual event is designed to introduce you to the most promising entrepreneurs from EPFL and beyond. Prepare to be captivated by a live pitch of only 90 seconds!

Join us in exploring innovative startup exhibitions and engaging in insightful conversations with founders before the main event, and continue these discussions around the aperitif following the pitch competition. You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and insights on their fast-growing entrepreneurial projects. The event also offers a unique opportunity to connect with angel investors, mentors and scientists, encouraging a dynamic ecosystem of knowledge and collaboration.

We welcome you from 5:30 pm to discover the startups exhibition and enjoy a quiet moment to discuss with the founders before the event.

"The Journey from Lab to Exit"

Lunaphore is a Swiss company born in 2014 with the vision of enabling spatial biology in every laboratory. They automate tissue staining for precise cancer diagnostics using microfluidic technologies. Ciftlik and Dupouy both graduated with a PhD in Microtechnics from EPFL in 2013 and 2016, respectively. During the summer of 2023, Lunaphore was sold to the american biotechnology chain Bio-Techne.

"One Year After Winning the Startup Champions Seed Night"


Launched in 2022 as an EPFL spin-off, Voltiris develops the very first photovoltaic modules for glass greenhouses. This innovation allows for double-land use of greenhouses’ surface, generating electricity with no reduction of crop productivity.
During the discussion, Nicolas Weber will tell us what has happened since 2023 after winning the Startup Champions Seed Night and Gaëtan Marti will share his journey from entrepreneur to investor.

DPhi Space offers shared satellites to make space access simpler and more affordable. Addressing the complexity of traditional launches, DPhi's satellites increase payload capacity and empower them with cutting-edge computers in orbit, democratizing access to space for wider applications.

ECHO - Kevin Turani-i-Belloto
EVS Echo Verse Solutions have developed a new chemical catalyst made from sustainable materials which transforms ammonia liquid into hydrogen gas – this catalyst is cost-effective opening possibilities for heavy industry powered by green power (heavy mobility, off-grid power supply).

FindeX - Anna Timonina - Farkas
The demand for AI-enabled information retrieval is experiencing a surge, however the exponential growth of available content poses a challenge to achieving swift and high-quality search results. FindeX addresses the need for enhanced due diligence, delivering relevant content in a fraction of a second, by relying on our custom technology for ranking and AI-powered semantic search.

HepaVue Dx - Maxime Nachit
Over 2 billion people – more than a quarter of the world population – suffer from chronic liver disease. Today, the needle biopsy remains the only diagnostic option. HepaVue has developed the world’s first virtual liver biopsy which will make liver disease diagnosis affordable, painless, safe and more accessible.

Magnetfab - Milan Ćalić
Magnetfab’s disruptive innovation consists in producing thousands of integrated magnets on wafers. Our micromagnets are as small as a grain of sand, and they are made of the most powerful existing magnetic material. We have the ambition to build the world's first micromagnet foundry and to become a key player in the supply chain of the MEMS industry.

MIROS Technology - Fabio Zuliani
MIROS technology makes adaptive spaces using moving robotic surfaces to redefine how we build living spaces for humans. The vision is to create reconfigurable rooms to optimize the use of space for living and more. The unique opportunity brought by this vision is to create completely interconnected, interactive and adaptive living spaces.

NanThermix - Evgenii Glush
NanThermix, based at the EPFL Innovation Park, has developed a Diamond Heater-Thermometer (DHT) - a breakthrough technology, that enables an exciting new dimension in biology and medicine. Thanks to it researchers from both academic labs and industry can for the first time ever have full control over the thermodynamic state of living systems at the nanoscale, using a compact plug&play device that can be added to any existing optical microscope.

Navintis - Lucio Pancaldi
Navintis is dedicated to saving lives by empowering clinicians with the world’s smallest microcatheter and providing a new treatment modality for intracerebral hemorrhage: a devastating disease with no effective cure that affects 20 million people worldwide.

NEOSENS - Mateo Hamel
NEOSENS offers a platform AI-based Diagnostic Assistant for rapid health assessment in newborns, initially focusing on early sepsis detection.

NovoViz - Andrada Muntean
NovoViz is a fabless semiconductor company which designs and manufactures single-photon cameras with on-chip computation. Our focus is on hardware acceleration for edge computing. We create easy to integrate systems that access the full potential of single-photon technology. Our goal is to make this technology available to the everyday user.

PhenomX Health - Dr. Colleen Fogarty Draper
PhenomX Health SA is a Swiss startup that is on a mission to improve the wellbeing, vitality and longevity of 1B menopausal women. We are disrupting scientific wellness with a personalized digital platform that empowers peri to post menopausal women to optimize their health and businesses (CPGs, HCPs…) to improve efficiency and product performance.
  
PitchMe - Sébastien Le Fouest
Vertical-axis wind turbines are quiet, fauna-friendly and need only a third of the space required by traditional windmills. Their deployment is hampered by low efficiency and short lifetime. PitchMe provides data-driven blade pitch control software to unlock the full potential of these turbines. 

Protonica - Benoit Truc
Protonica is dedicated to advancing the future of cancer care by reinventing the imaging system of proton therapy. Our EPFL-developed detector enables a 100x faster monitoring rate and precise characterization, unlocking unprecedented insights into proton beam behavior for more effective and efficient cancer treatment.

R2HOME - Yohan Hadji
Extreme weather events are rising. Access to precise weather predictions is vital to civil security. Our approach: collect higher resolution atmospheric data vital for climate resilience by deploying reusable radiosondes. This data will provide improved forecasts to any industry impacted by weather.

TheraMe! - Ngoc-Hien Du
TheraMe! AG, a spin-off from EPFL, is a MedTech startup based in Lausanne that provides personalized cancer therapy recommendation before treatment starts. We employ proprietary microfluidic technologies to test the efficacy of cancer drugs on freshly isolated patients' tumor cells to determine the best therapy for each patient.

TofuPilot - Julien Buteau
TofuPilot is the workspace for hardware innovation, improving team collaboration to deliver better products faster.
