Panel: Scaling a Swiss-US Tech Unicorn

Pedro Bados - CEO and co-founder Nexthink

http://www.nexthink.com/

Pedro Bados launched Nexthink as an EPFL spin-off in 2004. In 2020, he moved to the US with his wife and 2 young children to scale the company and in 2021, Nexthink became one of Switzerland’s tech unicorns (a startup valued at more than 1 billion dollars), with a presence in 11 countries and nearly 1000 employees.

Nexthink is a leader in Digital Employee Experience (DEX) software, giving companies unparalleled visibility into how their employees interact with their IT through issue detection, diagnosis and remediation.

Laurent Balmelli - CEO and co-founder Strong Codes (acquired by Snap in 2016) and Strong Network

https://strong.network/

Laurent Balmelli launched Strong Codes in 2014 to develop integrated innovative software protection methods, such as obfuscation, in one the most powerful compilation frameworks of the moment (LLVM). The technology made software piracy much more expensive and complicated, exactly what Snapchat needed at the time. In 2016, Laurent successfully sold his business to Snap Inc. and became the Director of Snap Switzerland’s Cybersecurity Technologies.

Learn from these Swiss success stories as they share best practices in international expansion of tech companies and how they evolved from local players to global leaders.

Co-organized with Innovaud (innovation and investment promotion agency for the Canton of Vaud) and Greater Geneva Bern area (economic development agency for Western Switzerland), the event will bring together important economic actors, entrepreneurs and venture capital firms.
