On April 27th, 2023, more than 500 people attended the Startup Champions Seed Night at the Rolex Learning Center Forum and online - a great success that continues to make the event one of the most important innovation gatherings of the year.

From cleantech to medtech, fintech, ICT or watchmaking, the audience discovered the best of the early stage startups from EPFL and beyond. After a thrilling competition during which the 20 startups pitching had only 90 seconds to present their technology, Voltiris won the contest!

Co-founded by Nicolas Weber who pitched on stage and by EPFL alumnus Dominik Blaser, Voltiris enables greenhouse growers to harvest renewable energy while growing crops, resulting in increased profitability, independence and sustainability.

The Isabelle Musy prize supporting women entrepreneurs in the field of science and technology was awarded jointly to Angela Madurga Alonso and Shanaz Diessler.

You can find more details about the event and the list of 20 startups here.

Thank you to all the innovation enthusiasts who respond to our invitation year after year, to the 20 startups present this year and to our keynote speaker, EPFL alumnus Michael Friedrich, CEO of Distalmotion.

We can’t wait to see you next year!
