The Swiss Alumni Group Vancouver’s first Apéro of the year was held at the Crate & Barrel on Granville Island in Vancouver on Thursday, February 26. The weather was decent for this time of year in Vancouver and already dark when the event started at 6:00pm.
Eight people attended this event. All the attendees were alumni who had attended one or more of the alumni events in 2025. It seems that we are starting to build an alumni community in Vancouver with most of the attendees having lived in Vancouver for several years and likely planning to stay in Vancouver for several more.
Discussions focused on the SCCC’s Fondue Evening that about fifteen alumni attended in early February. The consensus was that that event was very successful and the fondue was pretty good. Talks of organising a Raclette Evening in the Fall or Winter of this year were had and it looks like we will need the assistance of the EHL in organizing this event. The Consul General of Switzerland has already hinted at the possible use of his “four à raclette”…
The next event of the Swiss Alumni Group Vancouver will be a Café Scientifique, on Thursday, April 30, starting at 6:00pm. Location to be confirmed. Guillaume Le Bars (EPFL) will be telling us all about the pursuit of fusion energy.
