After your studies, EPFL Alumni provides you with an e-mail address alumni.epfl.ch that you can use without time limit to receive messages.
This e-mail address is not a mailbox, but a redirection address, and all e-mails addressed to it are redirected to your personal e-mail address. It is not possible to use it as a sender.
Your lifetime e-mail address will be activated a few days after you obtain alumni status, when we receive your diploma information from EPFL's academic service. This procedure is automatic and requires no action on your part.
What is the purpose of the @alumni.epfl.ch lifetime address?
- It allows you to be clearly identified as an EPFL graduate.
- It allows you to keep an email address unchanged for life, even if you change e-mail provider. For example, if you change your personal e-mail address from hotmail to gmail, your @alumni.epfl.ch address remains unchanged. All you have to do is update the destination e-mail address.
To which address will emails sent to my @alumni.epfl.ch address be redirected?
To see your personal email address to which these emails will be redirected, you must first activate your account on the platform and log in.
Then use your personal menu on the left of the screen and select "My account", then "Email management". There you'll find your destination address. You can change this address at any time, and your changes will take effect within 24 hours. If you delete the destination address, you will no longer receive emails sent to your @alumni.epfl.ch address.
Can I change my @alumni.epfl.ch address?
If you wish to change your @alumni.epfl.ch address, for example if last name changes, please contact us at alumni@epfl.ch.
I previously had an @a3.epfl.ch address. Is it still active?
The @alumni.epfl.ch address has replaced the @a3.epfl.ch address used until 2014. Only those who indicated that they wished to keep their a3 address before April 2016 will continue to use it. The others have been removed and replaced by an @alumni.epfl.ch address.
