The thirteenth edition of the Startup Champions Seed Night is officially over and you were more than 500 people to attend the event at the Forum Rolex and online! It was a wonderful evening and we were honored to be able to host it for another year.

On April 25th, 2024, 20 startups pitched their innovative plans to make an impact in the world of modern technology. It was such a tough choice between all of these bright ideas presented by sharp innovators that the jury elected two winners: congratulations to biped.ai and R2HOME for winning the competition!

With R2Home, access to precise weather predictions is vital to civil security. Their approach: collect higher resolution atmospheric data vital for climate resilience by deploying reusable radiosondes. This data will provide improved forecasts to any industry impacted by weather. The project was presented by EPFL student and CEO Yohan Hadji.

Biped.ai makes the world accessible for blind and visually impaired people, using AI. The harness, worn on the shoulders, leverages advanced robotics and cameras to detect obstacles, provide indoor and outdoor navigation instructions, and describe the scene. It makes any place accessible in minutes. CEO Maël Fabien pitched on stage to present his technology.

We wish to thank all of the attendees who stay loyal and mark their presence to the event each year, the 20 startups who competed with pride, our EPFL alumni keynote speakers from Lunaphore, Diego Gabriel Dupouy, CTO and Ata Tuna Ciftlik, VP and our panel speakers Nicolas Weber, co-founder and Gaëtan Marti, board member and director of Voltiris, the winners of last year’s Startup Champions Seed Night.

Many thanks as well to all the other startups that pitched on stage: Aerospec, Consulto, Demosquare, DPhi Space, ECHO, FindeX, HepaVue Dx, Magnetfab, MIROS Technology, Nanthermix, Navintis, Neosens, Novoviz, PhenomX Health, Pitchme, Protonica, TheraMe! and TofuPilot.

You can find more details about all the competing startups here.

We hope to see you all again next year! You can rewatch the event below.
